The
Coalition for Placer Youth, was formed in June 2008 to unite
parents, educators, law enforcement and elected officials to promote
substance abuse awareness and prevention among the youth in Placer
County.
CASHY is closely aligned with CPY and fully supports their
adocacy efforts. CASHY congratulates CPY on their success in
winning a sustantial federal grant to implement their awareness and
prevention programs. |

Banana Moments is a quarterly newsletter
on proactive parenting published by our own local GB Mom, Joanna
Jullien.
Banana
Moments promotes, "Strategies for connecting with other parents,
teachers, coaches, store and restaurant managers, video rental clerks -
to establish over time a network of adults in our childrens' lives that
reinforces the norms for a safe and healthy journey from childhood into
adulthood." |
Joanna has also published a Banana Moments Blog as a companion to the
Banana Moments Newsletter. The blog is likewise loaded with
terrific tips on keeping kids Safe & Healthy, conveniently
organized in topical categories.

The Trust & Verify Parenting Program was initiated at Granite
Bay High School as one effort to break the code of silence around the
topic of alcohol and drugs and open up more effective parental
cooperation. Joanna provides information and documentation on
this blog page. Any interested schools or school groups are
encouraged to take full advantage of these salutary materials.

In conjunction with the Banana Moments Newsletter, Joanna also
publishes and makes available packaged information suitable for
inclusion in high school newsletters. These bulletins are
currently published in the Granite Bay Gazette, and other interested
schools are welcome to take advantage of these convenient and
instructive materials.
