alert to giving money – drugs are so accessible. Trust your
instincts and don't second guess yourself if you think you had $80 in
your purse, not $40.”

Parents
Challenged to Step Up:
From the
Granite Bay Gazette, January 30, 2009
by
Monica Hower
(Granite Bay Junior)
"People talk. A
lot."
"Who got drunk last
weekend? He smoked how much weed?" "If everything is so talked
about, then how is it that no one ever seems to do anything about it?"

Teen Smoking
Makes A Comeback
"Smoking
hookah has become a popular activity for many GBHS students."
Though
many students don't even realize that
Hookah is tobacco, and many who do, falsely believe that it's "safe"
tobacco. |

Some
local parents (a small minority)
are serving alcohol to other people's children . . .
If you
are not one of these parents, please be aware.
If you are one of these . . . PLEASE
STOP!
Serving your own children is questionable.
Serving others' is indefensible! |
A
Grass Valley mother was charged with serving alcohol to minors at a
party in her home. Many of the teens were members of the Bear
River
High School girls' basketball team, which forfeited the remaining games
in their season as a consequence. Details of this incident surfaced
following the investigation of another party in Granite Bay attended by
some of the same teenagers.
